4D Systems has announced the 4DPi-24-HAT, a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 pixel, fully HAT-compliant main display with resistive touch that plugs directly into the top of the Raspberry Pi. It shows the main output of the Raspberry Pi, which is usually sent to the HDMI or Composite output. The integrated resistive touch panel enables the display to be used with the Raspberry Pi without a mouse or other HMI device.
The 4DPi-24-HAT is designed to be used with the Raspbian operating system and is powered directly by the Raspberry Pi's 40-way connector, eliminating the need for an external power source and allowing easy touch-based interaction with the Raspbian operating system. This display has a typical frame rate of 25 frames per second and can be increased by kernel compression. The monitor's backlight can be turned on or off using the on-board jumper, or it can be dimmed using the PWM control. The on-board EEPROM allows the Raspberry Pi to quickly identify the 4DPi-24-HAT. 4DPi-24-HAT is compatible with Raspberry Pi A +, B + and Raspberry Pi 2 and is fully compliant with the HAT Standard.
