Texas Instruments TPA3144D2 is a highly efficient Class D audio power amplifier for driving bridged stereo speakers up to 6W 6ohm or 8ohm (per channel). Advanced EMI suppression technology with spread spectrum control and 1SPW modulation scheme can use cheap ferrite bead filters at the output, while meeting EMC requirements to reduce system costs. Not only does the TPA3144D2 have comprehensive short-circuit and overload protection, SpeakerGuard's speaker protection circuit also includes an adjustable automatic gain limit (AGL), an adjustable power limiter, and a DC detection circuit for detecting connected speakers. AGL can adjust the maximum output voltage without signal clipping, which enhances speaker protection and audio quality. DC detection and pin-to-pin, pin-to-ground, and pin-to-power short-circuit protection circuits protect the speakers from output DC and pin shorts produced in production. The output is also fully protected from GND, PVCC, and output to output. Short-circuit and thermal protection include automatic recovery.
